On Sunday morning, I followed a Mongolian pastor to a small ger church outside Ulaanbaatar. From the outside, it looked like an ordinary ger. But when I stepped inside, I saw a wooden cross, a small keyboard, and plastic chairs arranged in a circle.
Only twelve people had gathered. A grandmother, two young mothers, several children, and a few men in thick coats greeted one another quietly. The pastor smiled and said that the church was small, but the family of faith was real.
When worship began, the people sang in Mongolian. I did not understand the words, but I could feel the prayer in their voices. A child sat beside the stove and followed the song with a shy smile.
In Korea, I was used to large church buildings and many programs. Here, there was no stage, no screen, and no sound system. Yet the worship felt sincere and warm.
That morning, I learned that a church does not begin with a building. It begins when people gather around Christ with humble hearts.
