Early in the morning, I joined a small mission team leaving Ulaanbaatar for a village near the Gobi Desert. The road soon became rough, and the city disappeared behind us. For hours, we saw only dry land, low hills, and a sky that seemed too large.
Pastor Bat said that some villages could not be visited often. Fuel was expensive, roads were difficult, and winter could stop travel for weeks. Still, the team carried Bibles, children's notebooks, warm socks, and a small speaker for worship.
When we arrived, a few families were already waiting near a community building. There was no church sign and no bell. A woman greeted the pastor and said, “You came again.” Her words sounded simple, but I felt their weight.
That evening, we sang quietly with ten villagers. I realized that mission in remote Mongolia is not a big event. It is the faithful act of coming again, even when the road is long.
